Why is my image of 707Kb reduced to 89Kb here? That's a pity, wanted to show sharpness and noise at this ISO

If you upload an image to the LUF site, you have to start with a severely reduced image and it is further modified in ways that you don't control.  Link to an external image at a size that you choose, but out of consideration for viewers with slow links, the forum mods ask us to keep the "original" down to a few MPx.  I use 50% reduction to 6 MPx, to preserve sharpness, and I get occasional reproving notes from the mods, so perhaps something like rendering to 1-2 MPx would keep everyone happy.  And there are many free hosting sites from which to do this.

I can read German, but not well enough to accurately detect sarcasm.  I thought PDW's three posts criticising the sharpness of Silbeers' monkey were uncalled-for.  I liked the little fellow.  Mike Johnston at TheOnlinePhotographer commented recently that sharpness is like sugar -- a complement to the taste, but unhealthy as an obsession.

Hallo!

Yes, I agree the focus could be better but I did like the picture.  The colours and composition worked for me.  I don't think it is necessarily a great piece of art but it was worth an acknowledgement of my appreciation.

I did a google translation and got the gist of the comments.  I like the sugar analogy though I find the more you one sugar in something, the less one likes it :-)

Same lens and one that I am really impressed by. It seems to offer the same wonderful rendering as the Leica 35 Summilux but for half the price (and I got mine second hand for even less than that!)
