This gentleman was hand rolling cigars during dinner. I asked if I could take a photo - something tells me he's been practicing this pose for years. Summilux-SL 50.

I just got the 90-280SL, used from B&H.  It's big but manageable!  Of course, I found a cat to photograph.

Nice. Gary, do you use the R to M adaptor? Or R to L?

It's a cheap ( e-bay) R-L adapter Arvin.

Ideally the genuine R-L would be nice, but at the price, I can use this for another lens etc.

I am tempted to try a R-M, and then my M-L adapter, hopefully giving me the ability to dial in the appropriate R lens in the menu, something I cannot do right now.

In the end I am looking to sell some stuff, (TL & R6 plus a bit of other film stuff) and try an M lens or two. I don't want to duplicate the R lenses with M lenses, but there is a size difference with the R stuff, as the adapter by necessity sticks out a heap more.

Right now, the SL and R lenses play nice with the SL (Leicaflex SL), film and digital in one bag, which I find handy.

Now I remember your question about the SL not reading or not able to select your R lens correct. I see.

Your photos via the R lens is definitely great. Love it.

Thanks for answering. BTW, did you get your 7artisans back or have you returned it!

I returned it Arvin. Not sure I did the right thing, perhaps should have persevered with it.

The were excellent to deal with, offered to mill the rear cell to the correct amount, and return it, but in the end I decided against it.

I'll re-think it, and possibly when their soon to be released 35mm f2 is ready.

One of my responsibilities is to perform civil weddings.  Since I am located in a large college town it sometimes feels as if I am doing work in the United Nations.  Last week I performed a wedding for a couple from Nepal.  The bride was so beautiful and her gown was so fantastic that I asked permission to photograph them and then her separately.  This was also posted in "People" category.  SL with SL24-90.

Thanks,

Mark B
