I've made a short series of long exposure shots today. All three shot at the same time with the same lens. Trying to figure out if I want to sell this lens and replace it with the SVE 16-35 which is twice as expensive and three times as big 😂 What would be your advice ... ? Any thoughts?

Maybe best to 'try before you decide whether or not to buy' … if accessible dealer has a demo lens. I couldn't justify purchase of the 16-35 … quite happy with Leica R 19/2.8 Mk II lens which also adapts to other cameras. If I need a wider lens i use the TL 11-23mm.

Hi meerec,

I have both the SVE 16-35 SL and the 18mm SEM. They are both great. I suspect the resolution of the SVE 16-35 is higher and will work better with future higher resolution SLs. For landscape photography, it is recommended. As a walk about lens, the 18mm is much lighter and more compact. I’m keeping the 18mm for that purpose.
