50 Lux SL... magnificent lens!

8buzO31.jpg

Really lovely timeless photo Cabe -

I'm toying with getting either the SL50 lux or a CL with TL 35 lux (as back-up to SL) for portrait work .... selling my M9 + M 50 lux to fund.

You may not know/have the CL but wondered whether you had a view on how the final image might differ between these two?

Thank you James!

I do not have the CL (I intend to take it and use it with the SL) and I don't know if the CL + 35 TL can achieve these results... some friends who have the CL and the 35 TL are very satisfied with the results obtained...

But one thing is certain: with the SL and its lenses you get results comparable to what you get with a medium format system!

Like you, before the SL system, I had a M240 with several M lenses that I sold (not all lenses) to fund the transition... now I can tell you I'm so glad I did!

nice to find someone who has noticed this as well ....... it never gets mentioned by the reviewers but the images look and print way better than FF.

Here's one with the S-35 on the SL, as I just acquired the Leica S adapter L.

Absolutely true!

A dear friend has a Fuji GFX 50s and we compared images made by his camera and my SL (very often we shoot together same subjects).

It's almost impossible to observe differences between the two formats and frequently the SL files are preferable for their "Leica look"  ;)
