I took this on a trip to Beijing in 1998 using my M6, and I have just scanned it to give it a new life. I am sorry but I have no details stored with the original, but can say that it was taken on Fuji RDP 100iso film. I hope you like it!

Thank you Steve and others. You shoot happily at the time and you think little more of it, but suddenly 17 years after your work begins to have an historical significance in the light of the massive slum clearance programme Beijing undertook for the Olympics which displaced many hundreds if not thousands of people. The streets I was working in were fairly close to the centre of the city and therefore I suspect the they have now gone, but you can see other images from my series by going to my website (http://archive.gwpics.com) and clicking on the 'Beijing 1998' image on the front page. I am adding to the series almost daily, with many more to go.

Kind regards

Gerry

Hi everyone, I'm a new Leica user and bought an M6 Classic with a Leitz Summicron 2.0. The first roll came back blurry and I thought it was my shooting..then the second and third and so on. I sent my lens in to Keh (where I had gotten it) to be serviced and it came back with the same results. The images are generally overexposed when in very sunny conditions and all of them are very softly focused. I shot most of a roll at f16 and not one thing was in focus. I don't think it could be the lens, as it just came back from being properly adjusted so I'm wondering if it could be the body? I'm not sure what to do as I've spent my budget on this setup. I was going to send it in to get the VF upgrade because I was experiencing some flaring but that is not what is happening here. Any tips very much appreciated.

This was taken before the coronavirus problems we now all have.
Leica M7 + Fuji Neopan T400CN film commercially processed and home scanned.

Continuing my trawl through my archives, I found this from Chinese New Year in London 1998. I had been shooting with my first Leica (a M3) for less than a year at this stage.
Film was Fuji Neopan 400 and the lens was an old Summicron 50mm f2.

Because of the covid-19 lockdown I am unable to go out on to the streets to photograph, not that there are any people around. I am therefore still working through my archives, and came across this image from Paris in 2002. Taken with a Leica M6, 50mm Summicron f2 and using Kodak T400CN film (which I used to love!). I hope you like it.
I have also been revamping my web site using Adobe Portfolio, which is part of the Lightroom/Photoshop package, and like the results so far, although it is a work in progress. Take a look here
