gwpics Posted November 9, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 9, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I took this on a trip to Beijing in 1998 using my M6, and I have just scanned it to give it a new life. I am sorry but I have no details stored with the original, but can say that it was taken on Fuji RDP 100iso film. I hope you like it! Gerry Welcome, dear visitor! Doc Henry Posted November 10, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 10, 2015 Nice color Gerry. The slight blur of the bicycle repairman gives a picture "dynamic". Best Henry

Steve Ricoh Posted November 11, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 11, 2015 Almost a timeless image: the old fashioned bicycle, the mechanic and the workshop all point to a different era. The plastic bag is the only give away. Nice work.
gwpics Posted November 11, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) Thank you Steve and others. You shoot happily at the time and you think little more of it, but suddenly 17 years after your work begins to have an historical significance in the light of the massive slum clearance programme Beijing undertook for the Olympics which displaced many hundreds if not thousands of people. The streets I was working in were fairly close to the centre of the city and therefore I suspect the they have now gone, but you can see other images from my series by going to my website (http://archive.gwpics.com) and clicking on the 'Beijing 1998' image on the front page. I am adding to the series almost daily, with many more to go. Kind regards Gerry Edited November 11, 2015 by gwpics
