The M9 Monochrom and UV/IR Cut Filters?

To owners of the M9 Monochrom camera:  What are your thoughts/experiences concerning the need for, and use of, the UV/IR cut filters originally used with the M8 cameras?   I've just bought the M9M and still have a box full of these filters left over from M8 days.  My own brief experience trying them on the M9M: they don't seem to make a difference.

 

But perhaps others have other experiences?  (I searched for this topic but came up empty.  Please excuse if this is an old dead horse and point me towards the carcass.)

Wouldn't use it, no need. Just something else between your lens and the rest of the world that will just serve to degrade quality.

UV cut filters were used to address a particular problem with colour and sensor sensitivity to the IR spectrum. So they don't need to be used on the MM or M 246. You can however use a full blown Infra Red filter on the MM or M246 to make infra red photographs. I use a Heliopan 715 but the actual strength is more to do with the effect you want.

I had both an M8 and M9P at the same time, and I was too lazy to remove the filters when I used the M9P... and found that the resulting color quality was unbelievable on the M9P.  The colors it produces with the Uv/IR cut filters are absolutely decadent, they're so pure.  The Uv/IR cut filters have stayed on my lenses ever since.  

 

I rather doubt there would be much value to them on the MM sensors though.

Thank you for your thoughts thus far.  Yes I, too, am a veteran of the M8, M8.2, M9, M240, MP240, and now MPM campaigns.  (My service ribbons would be impressive!)  Like many of you, my Leica UV/IR cut filters have been in storage since the M9 came along, as they were no longer needed.  But I've become curious how the M9M's sensor might be affected by them.

I sold mine on Ebay once I sold my M8 and purchased the original Monochrom.
