Q & SF 24D Flash

Hi

I've seen a number of references to this but nothing definitive.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong here but I can't seem to get this flash to work in TTL mode with the Q. No flash ready light just 'A' blinking on the back of the flash.

Auto and Manual do work but just no TTL.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

Having been inundated with replies to this post I can report some minor success.

I've completely forgotten about TTL and am loving the flash on auto. Setting shutter at 1/125s and dialling down the flash aperture is giving me great results at f5.6.

Now to get the flash off the camera and have a play. FlashQ triggers should arrive next week.

Manual experimentation next.

Thanks for all your help!  :)

Hi If you are still using the SF-24D with your Leica Q, I suggest to find or cut a small piece of the "Brushed Silk" #228  Lee Diffusion Filter and place that inside the Wide Angle Adapter. it will diffuse the light some what. The effect of this filter could be found at the website of Lee Filter. ( I learnt that from using the S-Fill from LeicaGoodies.com- in fact the S-Fill does not work too well in "A" mode even with the Sensor piece installed. But S-Fill works great with the Leica X2). I had already emailed Leica to request them to add support of the SF-24D in their next update. They said they had sent the request to their Software Engineers. Not sure if they would do that or not.

I had been using SF-24D in "A" mode, at 1/250 sec, ISO800, f/2.8 to f/4  with quite good results on skin tone. The #228 Lee Filter plus the Wide Angle Adapter works great together.
