Memory Cards

Hello, all. I've been an ME user since 2012 and took great care to use a Panasonic Gold  card (32gig) to avoid any issues, as recommended in this forum.  Recently, I acquired an M9M and have been swapping the same card between the two cameras as needed but would rather have a card in each so as to avoid the swap. My question is whether Panasonic Gold is still the preferred standard or are other cards now better?

Thanks in advance,

RV

The Panasonic Gold cards are fine, though they're getting difficult to find (Adorama has some advertised on "closeout," so maybe they aren't being made any more). But I use SanDisk and Lexar cards in my MM without any problems. Just make sure you buy them from a reputable dealer so you don't get stuck with counterfeits. You might do better buying two 16GB cards rather than a 32MB, and swap them out frequently so you don't lose all your images on one card when it fails.

Large or fast cards are not be the best option for the M9 and MM:

For minimal banding, the smaller capacity slower cards seem to work better - pulling less current during data transfer.

I've stopped using my 16GB panasonic gold cards as they seemed to band more easily than the 8GB version.

Unfortunately, it's nigh on impossible to get data sheet current details from card manufacturers, so finding good cards is a lottery.

I recently tried a slow Fujifilm 8GB class 4 microSDHC card ( in SD adapter ).

As it is looking good at ISO 1250 in the M9 , I just ordered another 6 cards.

Hello:

Does anyone have experience with the PRO MASTER PROFESSIONAL MEMORY CARD?     I purchased one today for my M-246 and I am curious if others have used this card.

It seems to be very fast, and so far, it works well.     The specifications are:  64GB     600X     90MB/s     AWXC     SDXC     CODE 1149
