Thanks Eoin but what were you doing working in such a remote location?

Hi, Mark. I and a partner owned an exploration drilling rig, and used to go out there for several months at a time. If you ever find a copy, read "Last of the Nomads", an account of a couple from a tribe North of Wiluna who eloped into the Western Desert, and were eventually tracked down in their old age, when family were worried after prolonged drought.

Great idea Mark.

Ooh how I miss my desert explorations; now retired. But they were always my favourite places with no human intervention. So peaceful, so mysterious.

All my early photography was with other brands; I'm new to Leica with not too many useful images.

I'll contribute what I can though.

Thanks Dave S ;)

Oh adam, I'll just load up the M7 & X-Pan with Ektar and take the chopper out today to reshoot them ;).

Sorry for not beng clear .  I meant these "types" of shots, which i take you fairly ready access to.  I am happy to patiently wait.  The XPan and Ektar sound like an epic combo for some of the expansive scenes.

Enjoy!

Will have to do some more X-Pan work but then I can't post it directly here.

Regards,

Mark

Canola Crop Shock pano.

Traditionally the Monaro is (and always has been) mixed grazing country for sheep and cattle, cropping is generally thought to be the ruination of good land.

Imagine the shock and in some cases anger, that ensued when the new owner of this paddock put in a Canola crop this spring.

That's our shearing shed in the background.
