Exodies Posted July 11, 2016 Share #61 Posted July 11, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Unless everyone else with a faulty shutter has been quiet about it, your two are an unrepresentative sample.
Advertisement Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Hi Exodies, Take a look here Black Frames. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Steve Ricoh Posted July 11, 2016 Share #62 Posted July 11, 2016 Leica could sort this out quite simply. I know they read the forum, so a statement from the company could settle the matter, confirming or refuting a systematic shutter error.
Steve Ricoh Posted July 29, 2016 Share #63 Posted July 29, 2016 Camera on its way back to Leica for its 3rd shutter in less than 12 months. Although I like the M240, if I had my time again I might choose a different product. My faith in Leica has evaporated, really disappointed with the reliability not sure what if eanything would restore the faith. To say I'm disappointed doesn't go anywhere near what I want to say, but I mustn't swear!
tedd Posted March 20, 2023 Share #64 Posted March 20, 2023 Not sure I’ll get a reply here, but was this ever solved? My M-E 240 from late 2019 has started occasionally having a ‘weak’ shutter sound and a completely black frame to accompany it - same exposure settings as the frames on either side if made in quick succession! Sad to hear, such a new camera.

Once it happens, it knocks confidence. It’s happened twice on my M240.
