jip Posted October 8, 2015 Share #21 Posted October 8, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Are you sure about the 006 batteries wont work in the 007?? The S2/S006 batteries are NOT compatible with the S007 (apparently the camera will show a message about this when you try) The S007 batteries ARE compatible with the S2/S006 (and they should last longer since it holds more charge)

Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted October 8, 2015 Share #24 Posted October 8, 2015 I might treat myself to a 180mm S lens after Christmas that would give me the full range of S lenses (for my needs anyway)..............I guess I should Google it for some reviews as I haven't seen many or any shots/feedback on the Leica forum about the 180mm lens
albireo_double Posted October 8, 2015 Share #25 Posted October 8, 2015 The 180 lens is superb, comparable to the 120 in terms of image quality. Here's a picture I took with it couple of months ago (hope I am not transgressing any nipple rules here).
John McMaster Posted October 8, 2015 Share #26 Posted October 8, 2015 The 180mm is at least as sharp as the 120/2.5 macro, just more limited in closer focussing even with the ELPRO john

mjrp Posted October 8, 2015 Share #28 Posted October 8, 2015 Neil, the S006 batteries definitely don't work in the 007, I bought 3 spares and for the 007 and have put the 006 batteries away so will just use the 4 for the 007 in both. mjrp Posted October 8, 2015 Share #31 Posted October 8, 2015 (edited) Who would want to be a part of a forum that had nipple rules?! The 180 is my most used lens, wouldn't be without it. Not as exciting as albireo's shot but this in Mali recently in rainy season, it is razor sharp but has beautiful bokeh. albertknappmd Posted October 12, 2015 Share #36 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) Here is a representative view of northern Svalbard. I used a 180mm @ f/5.6, 1/1000 sec and ISO 320 This was taken from our ice reinforced ship, the Vavilov in August 2013. The trip, sponsored by quark Expeditions was superb! Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted October 12, 2015 Share #38 Posted October 12, 2015 Albert I have just signed up for a 8 day Tanzania Safari in late January next year and plan to take my 007 and Nikon gear to this trip......... This will give me the opposite weather to Svalblad but will also give the S 007 a work out
