Advertisement (Gone after free registration)

I've been collecting data of all current Leica M lenses over some time.
Now I took the time to include them into the Leica Forum as a database.

We'll present Leica M cameras too in the near future, M as well as other models.

Right now the Leica Lens List is beta, thus feedback is welcome!

Included as of now:
- Technical specs of all lenses
- Images
- 6-bit Codes
The language is a mix, will change this too...

What's missing? Any suggestions?

TIA
Andreas

You are missing a 21mm f2 Summicron, a 24mm f2 Summicron and an updated 75mm f1.4 Summilux.  Wait, I forgot Leica doesn't make them.

Very nice layout, thanks for the effort! I reckon there are enough mint shelf queens around that past production M lenses could be similarly portrayed. Call for member images?

Is the Elmarit 2.5/75 still current?

Nice and informative list. It will create a bit of work keeping the prices up to date.;)

I like taking pictures of Dogs because they don't object to being photographed - and they don't ask for prints.

Not really...

I started with the current Leica lenses - including past production models will multiply the work.

Images are the least problem, full technical specs is much more effort...

Interesting projects to come – any volunteers? ;)

Very nice. Good idea.
The 90 Macro shown I'd the previous version however but I don't think there is any difference in the lens other than the aperture ring diameter.

I think that, to give this project a "forum feel" would be nice if, for any lens, you link an area for pictures taken with THAT lens (certified) by  forum members : limited number of pictures  (say, max 8-10 or so) but good quality; of course, this area ought to be "filled" under the supervision of Forum staff members, to select pictures significant of the lens' usage and specifications.

Judging by what people write in the forum, black or silver is as vital a statistic as focal length.
Good work!

I guess that "current" is the reason why I don't see the 50mm Elmarit-M?

Thanks for the list: I appreciate the effort. Keep it up!

This is very helpful.  Thank you.  It would be helpful if you could include the lens filter thread sizes.   Paul

Already included - please take a look at the detail pages (row „Filterdurchmesser“)!

Not sure if the following lenses are still current: 21/2.8 asph, 24/2.8 asph, 50/2.5, 75/2.5, 90/2.5.
Also the picture of the 35/1.4 is that of the previous model. Same for the 90/4 macro as stated above.
FWIW. Best :)

You include some Elmarit-M lenses which are not currently in production, but not the Elmarit-M 1:2.8/90mm? Is that deliberate? cheers Jack

Will check!

BTW - List and detail page are now in English (almost 100%)...

An excellent and useful data source, Andreas, thank you.

I note that you've included the 50/1.4 Summilux asph but not the recently-released E43 version in black chrome and it's 35/2 sibling.  Is that because they have been released in limited numbers?

Pete.

I guess it depends on what you mean by current. Still sold new?

Maybe off topic, but some R lenses also need correction in the wiki.

For example the image of the second version of the R 4/250 is completely wrong - it shows a R 4.8/350 as is easily readable on the lens.

Could you also fix this ?

LeicaWiki said, that manufacturer of AA75 is Schneider --->> http://www.l-camera-...Apo-Summicron-M
Is it really correct statement?
