Q Shutter Count?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Somebody is selling a Q and I want to pick it up to jump the wait till I get a new one.

The guy claims he doesn't know how many pictures he's shot with the camera.

Is there any way of reading the shutter count from the Q?

I searched around the forum for this info but couldn't find it.

It won't keep me up at night but I'd sure like to know how much it has been used.

Many Thanks for your help,

Hari

Is shutter count (very) relative in the mirrorless world?

This answer intrigued me. It was likely rhetorical, but considering there's no mirror involved I have to believe that (as with my Sony's A7##) the wear on the shutter almost insignificant compared to the wear a mirror creates;  but don't know that for a fact.

Me too. Because that specification tends to include the

release button 'life' projection. My old Canon 10D had

to go away to have the shutter release replaced after

I'd wore it out. When I wore out the 2nd one I looked

at the quoted actuations life for my replacement 1DsIII

rather more closely. To date I haven't wore out either

of its two releases;~) So, with or without a mirror, that

shutter release mechanism's operational life still counts.

Interesting point, kind of harkens the old adage regarding a chain is as strong as its weakest link. So now all of the shutter count fanatics have to go back to the drawing board. LOL. Wonder if there's any camera in the history of shutter counts that failed on shutter counts?
