I was in Iceland for part of one day and took the "Golden Circle Tour" which is a 4 hour tour of the area near Reykjavik.  A beautiful country with stunning landscape and friendly people, well worth a much longer stay.

I have wanted to visit Iceland for years and finally got to go for work but was there for less than 24 hours, and all but 4 hours at job site.  Now I KNOW that I need to go back for at least a week!

Thanks for sharing. I'm also off to Iceland with with in a couple of weeks, I've always wanted to go so I bit my boss' hand off when I was given the opportunity. I'm a geography teacher so will be visiting all the sites as professional development. My wife is sure I'm just off on a jolly though!

I'm thinking of taking my m9 and 50 'rit but might take my Fuji xe1 and 12mm Samyang instead and maybe my 18-55mm decisions...

Thank you Paul, Robert and Stuart,

When you are ready to go I can recommend a very good guide. In addition to doing tours of the island he is a documentary film maker and scouts locations for movie production companies.  He knows all the great photo spots but unfortunately my time was so short we had to stick to the usual tourist path and had no flexibility on time of day.

Dave,

good that you had at least a few hours... thanks for sharing the nice results. Time is necessary, because the weather changes quickly there and time to wait for the light is essential. I wish you a good planning for your next trip.
