Advertisement Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Hi barjohn, Take a look here What strap are you using for the Q?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Geoffrey James Posted August 19, 2015 Share #22 Posted August 19, 2015 I think the Q strap is the best that Leica has ever done. Good leather -- I put some dubbin on it to start the softening -- tapered, ideal length (you can knot it go over the wrist) and nonslip inner surface. Never liked the overly rigid, narrow straps of the M9 and Monochrom.
Guytou Posted August 19, 2015 Share #23 Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) Yes, the strap of origin seems to be identical to that of X Vario. Very good strap, simple, of quality and pratical. Guy Edited August 19, 2015 by Guytou
jbl Posted August 19, 2015 Share #24 Posted August 19, 2015 I have the finger loop and holster so I'm not actually using a strap most of the time. If I need one, I use Luigi's strap.
prk60091 Posted August 19, 2015 Share #25 Posted August 19, 2015 How do you stand how short it is? It puts the camera up high on my chest like a tourist. my wife cannot stand how short it looks on me (my big belly helps accentuate the tourist effect). Guytou Posted August 19, 2015 Share #26 Posted August 19, 2015 ... If I need one, I use Luigi's strap. I ordered a strap Luigi (as well as a half-case) and that should be delivered this week. I am impatient... Guy

Tim picture taker Posted August 19, 2015 Share #29 Posted August 19, 2015 For a wonderful moment, I thought that you were telling us that a wizard was in involved and the strap was made of unicorn hair.
Schluet Posted August 20, 2015 Share #30 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) I have just received the Tap and Dye legacy wrist strap (dark amber). I must say that they look smashing on both my Q and XV. Oh, and they function great too. Cheers! Schluet Edited August 20, 2015 by Schluet
wacka Posted August 23, 2015 Share #31 Posted August 23, 2015 An £15 wriststrap I got off ebay. Sadly guy doesnt seem to be around anymore, it's really well made - but it's on the large side. I'm considering re-buying the X1/X2 wrist strap, which I can't remember getting in the way a lot.
skor Posted August 23, 2015 Share #32 Posted August 23, 2015 I went back to the original Q strap. The A&A quality is not that impresive to say the least. I would have prefered a strap that is a bit wider and more padd at the neck aera but the A&A is not it (actually it's the same width) and didn't find a strap that I do like for the Q better then the original.
barjohn Posted August 24, 2015 Share #33 Posted August 24, 2015 I just ordered a Luigi black & red deluxe strap with quick connectors. Will see how it is. Definitely not cheap!
screwmount Posted August 27, 2015 Share #34 Posted August 27, 2015 I am using the peak design system, which allows me to switch to the strap of the day or to the strap for mood as a like in a second! https://peakdesign.com/store/
Tim B Posted August 27, 2015 Share #35 Posted August 27, 2015 I am using the peak design system, which allows me to switch to the strap of the day or to the strap for mood as a like in a second! https://peakdesign.com/store/ I like this system. Was it you or another forum member who mentioned it recently? I hadn't previously come across it and am very grateful to find it. Very versatile and comfortable. Only problem was getting the cord of the anchor clips through the rather narrow camera eyelets. In the end I used some cotton thread as a pull-through. Perfect. I find that the PD attachment system less in the way of my finger on the shutter release that the leather straps. I have also tried various Leica leather straps. All have their points although I find split rings on the one that comes with the camera a little flimsy. The Peak Design strap system is a lot cheaper than the Leica leather! prk60091 Posted August 27, 2015 Share #36 Posted August 27, 2015 for the time being i decided to stick with the Leica strap and when i need/want to use a wrist strap i am just wrapping it around my wrist... i am concerned about the peakdesign straps... they dont seem sturdy enough for me. AlanJW Posted August 28, 2015 Share #38 Posted August 28, 2015 I use an A&A woven silk. But straps are a verrrry personal thing. Someone else's opinion is worth little.
katsanes Posted August 28, 2015 Share #39 Posted August 28, 2015 I pre-purchased (another) Lance Strap - I have loved the neck strap on my X100s. This time I went for the wrist strap, but I'm not sure if I won't also put a neck strap on it because I like having it on me when it's not in hand.
