A test shot with GFX100S and S180, shot wide open with focus on the nearest village, using a shimmed (= 26.3mm thick) Fotodiox adapter.

So, since no-one else has asked.....  How are you finding the images from the GFX100S with S lenses compared to S3/S(007)?  Also I what does the shim do since the adapter does not do infinity focus?

Yes, shimming to 26.3mm is needed to reach infinity (ok for S24, 35, 45, 70, 100, 120 and 180).

Too early to conclude regarding comparison with S3 and S006, the S-bodies I know (only testing the GFX100S over the weekend). First feeling:

A little green-yellowish in colour, perhaps, but can be adjusted in post. The S-files have more defined sharpness at 100 percent magnification (pixel sharpness). The GFX files are also sharp, no problem, but there are differenses. Possibly different ways to apply Bayer-averaging/processing, plus different strategies wrt sensor cover glass.

I prefer the pixel noise of Leica; its more film-alike than from Fuji.

The highlights in Fuji are better preserved than those on S3/S006.

(Hardly) No shadow noise when being lifted in the GFX-files; can be problematic on S3/S006.

Details of the GFX-files are amazing. Not necessarily because of 100mp vs 64 mp (S3; little resolution difference), but that IBIS+electronic shutter is king. See eg the link below, and particularly post #2213 and the following discussion. IBIS+electronic shutter uncover absolutely amazing resolution of eg R- and S-lenses. Has to be seen to be believed. At least for me. I do see this now and then on S3/S007, but hardly when using APO-TELYT-R 280mm f4 + 1.4 APO-Extender-R on S3/S006 handheld due to no IBIS (I guess).

Lots of speculation in the above, early days as I say, but a HUGE potential for mirrorless S-body with IBIS, that's for sure!

And finally: Nothing compares to the S optical viewfinder. Actually, I find the EVF of GFX100S miles behind that of SL/SL2. But focus magnification in the GFX viewfinder guarantees pretty much all images in focus (for static subjects), which is great. Same on S3 in live view, but its quicker to use the EVF, and the only way when shooting handheld.

In many ways GFX is an upscaled SLx (but clearly I would prefer SX = a mirrorless S/an upscaled version of SL).

S006 with 70mm S stitched

I now enjoy normal look without wide angle drama more. For image like this, fighting with DOF, optimize IQ (diffraction) and handhold speed is always a challenge in field. It has to be integrated with focus point used and composition. and without focus stack used, a series of trades off need to be made based on experience. GFX could have given me better IQ with IBIS but I am sure I wont feel the same at the moment of viewing and pushing the shutter which is big part of enjoyment I have during hiking.

+1. S is an instrument; GFX a machine.

This is very nice. Colors look good.
Any issues with the 70mm. I read motor problems so I dont want to buy

From what ive read, the newer S3 was causing the problem to the older lenses. Not all have been replaced. If you have an S3 maybe dont buy. I have the S2 and I am looking for a 70 to buy.

As has been said, there is no pattern to motor failure.  My 120/2.5 went from working to dead motor on my S2-P without being dismounted...
