Pecole Posted July 1, 2015 Share #1  Posted July 1, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) It is the very first time that a mantis visits us since the 8 years we live in the Algarve. This one was a "baby" : 26 mm long (without front antennas...). A perfect occasion to test the macro possibilities of my tiny V-Lux 20. Fortunately enough, this type of animal moves quite slowly (except when it decides to fly away), but anyhow, I must confess I was surprised by the results, especially due to the difficulty of aiming and focusing at a white background under strong sun. Northwest Wanderer Posted July 2, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted July 2, 2015 It's always interesting to view images of such strange insects. I like the second image the most.
pauledell Posted July 3, 2015 Share #3  Posted July 3, 2015 A fine set. I like the first for its congruence between the mantis and its shadow as well as the composition.  Paul
