Yes, European Union and Common Market should mean something!

 

It's also why we no longer have 'duty free' allowances when travelling within the EU.

 

Remember day trips to France to stock up with cheap ciggies n booze? Of course if Cameron gets his way maybe those days will return.....

I should point out that it was a US resident who asserted Vat was payable.

But as a more general remark, you are sadly correct about the attitudes of many of my compatriots.
