Thanks to you all for your "Likes" and kind comments. Frosts of this spiky kind are unusual here, our winters are

mostly much too dry....but after a day of rain last week there is enough lingering moisture to form these beautiful crystals.

RockRyan, thank you! I took this mainly just as a record of this most unusual frost event.

The beautiful little ice needle formations were more than 4cm in length (between 1 and 2 inches)

and could be seen to extend to the very tops of tall pines and elm trees. Now of course I wish now that

I'd braved the cold for longer and taken more photos!
