Hieß optisch so wenig wie möglich aufzutragen, wozu der Boden konisch abgeschrägt wurde und das Uhrglas gewölbt war. Da passte dann auch die Hemdenmanschette mit Manschettenknopf drüber. Heute: Je dicker, desto Protz. Hemdenmanschetten lassen sich selbst im zweiten Knopf kaum noch schließen und sind nach kurzer Zeit aufgefasert. Selber schuld, sagt Leonardo di Caprio und zeigt uns bei TAG Heuer, wie Mann seine Uhr heute zu tragen hat (s. #33). Welcome, dear visitor! Sie wurde um 1900 herum vom Onkel meiner Großmutter, Christoph Tölle, gekauft. Er war der einzige, der in meiner Familie reich wurde. Mit dem Vertrieb von Palmin kam er zu Wohlstand, setzte sich mit Mitte 30 zur Ruhe und verbrauchte, was er hatte. Als er starb, war alles beliehen und verpfändet, außer dieser Uhr, einer Spiegelkommode und einiger Stühle. Welcome, dear visitor! Klisch in Lauf gekauft habe (Der Ring für die Kette ist nicht original) und eine Valgine mit Wecker, gekauft Anfang der 80 er Jahre bei Uhren Arn in Solothurn. Welcome, dear visitor!
