platypus Posted June 14, 2015 Share #11 Posted June 14, 2015 Please accept my sympathy....I have lost many wonderful dogs over the course of my life, some after a long, full and happy life of their own and some by accident and much too soon in the scheme of things, as can happen if one lives in a rural environment. Whichever way the loss occurs it will always be painful. I try to be grateful to have had their dear and loyal companionship for the time I did, it is such a privilege. fotografr Posted June 14, 2015 Share #12 Posted June 14, 2015 My sympathies also. Having gone through this many times, I fully understand your pain and will very likely be facing it again in the not too distant future. I really do believe there is no stronger bond than that formed between a person and their companion animal. The bottom photo of Ranger is truly beautiful tribute and one you might think of printing and framing.
Iduna Posted June 15, 2015 Share #13 Posted June 15, 2015 Al, oh Ranger, he had a long, happy and fullfilled life as your friend. We all share even if in imagination, your tears. I can understand that very well. Such a dog is faithful and and his love comforting any time. I share your grief and I wish you to recover from the loss after some time of sadness. Your series here is quite entertaining though and is showing 3 nice episodes of the dog's life. Thank you for sharing these memories.
samwells Posted June 15, 2015 Share #14 Posted June 15, 2015 Oh, Al…how sad. We went thru the same thing with our beloved Samoyed a few years ago…the remembrance still makes me tearful... best wishes: Sam
semi-ambivalent Posted June 15, 2015 Share #15 Posted June 15, 2015 Albert, I have been through this with a cat who lived with us for twenty years and, 19 years later, am soon to go through it again. I can only think these animals come in to our lives with some secret agenda at hand, and when they leave it is because their work with (and for) us is done. While we might never know what that is consider yourself more noble by having known him and that, doctors not withstanding, he left on his terms, something many of us don't. Mission accomplished. s-a
albert Posted June 16, 2015 Author Share #16 Posted June 16, 2015 Each and everyone of you has lifted my acceptance and recovery to a healthier level. It's the little thinks that keep hurting. I. E. : No welcome at the door, no attention while eating human food, the house doesn't seem the same. Something is missing. My wife and I are busy with grandchildren etc. so we'll be ok.
