tonight I was out on my bike and went to take a few photos but after I took one shot the camera ran out of battery :(
I went home and dug out my old 35mm film cannister holders and put one on the camera strap to hold a spare battery.
There's even a little bit of room in there for a couple of SD cards.

Now I'll never be caught in this situation again.

I also love it because without any marking, the Monochrom will confuse people into thinking it's a film camera...Love it! :)

For me the absolute best battery holder for Leica M is this product:

http://www.amazon.com/Lowepro-Terraclime-10-Recycled-Black/dp/B001E5PSCK

It holds easily 2 or 3 batteries, a few spare SD cards and a microfibre cloth.

I use their larger variants as lens pouches.

The second best Leica M battery holder, I often have with me when shooting a Leica M is this product:

http://www.fjallraven.com/karl-trousers-regular

This Fjallraven product (their most bought outdoor trouser I am told) has a slim and secure little pocket that easily takes two Leica M batteries on the left leg (M8/9/MM type).

The pocket is positioned on the side of the upper thigh just above the knee and will not interfere with active movement, crouching, cycling, etc …

On the rare occasion I don't wear pants when using a Leica M I double check my battery first or fall back to option 1 above.
