jrp Posted June 20, 2015 Author Share #41 Posted June 20, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) He seems to find controversey wherever he treads. Others might say that he was accident prone. Anyway, he has to eat and his site makes the world a slightly richer place, I think.
Advertisement Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Hi jrp, Take a look here DigLloyd reviews M246. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gpwhite Posted June 21, 2015 Share #42 Posted June 21, 2015 It is difficult to comment on something that you cannot see (without a subscription); I have no idea what he is talking about. (And I don’t fall for subscription-bait.) Actually, you might appreciate his work. Lloyd has strong opinions, but so do many of the moderators on this forum . It is no more bait than Sean Reid charges (a favorite of Leica).
SiOnara Posted June 24, 2015 Share #43 Posted June 24, 2015 Meanwhile, Digilloyd declares B&Ws from the 50Mpx Canon to better the M246. http://diglloyd.com/blog/2015/20150620_1118-Canon5DSR-comments.html (I'd have thought that something like the D810, which has the highest dynamic range sensor of full frame cameras would make the best b&w camera, since b&w is largely about tonality.) For me the Monochroms beat every other digital camera at taking B&W photographs because every other camera cannot not take colour photographs. I love the feeling of having a camera that only shoots B&W, like having a camera with B&W film in it. If I have the urge to shoot B&W this camera full fills that urge 100%, for every other time the M240 is perfect.
k-hawinkler Posted June 24, 2015 Share #44 Posted June 24, 2015 I am curious how the Sony A7R II will perform for B&W images and how it will stack up against the Leicas. We should be able to find out in the next 2 months.
Hannes Lummes Posted July 7, 2015 Share #45 Posted July 7, 2015 So, according to LLoyd's blog Leica has been able to replicate the weird black dot syndrome. LLoyd 1, the rest of the community 0.
