jdlaing Posted May 29, 2015 Share #21 Posted May 29, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Spending upward of $7,000 on a Leica M camera and using it exclusively in the less than "class-leading" live view mode is absolutely foolish and a big waste of money. As long as the good eye is the one you use.
Advertisement Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Hi jdlaing, Take a look here Monochrom 246 review from amateur Photographer magazine. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wilfredo Posted May 29, 2015 Share #22 Posted May 29, 2015 I think it was a fair reveiw, and the one street photo included in the review was quite convincing. This publcation obvioulsy favors CMOS sensors, and hence the comment: "The image quality on previous Leica M cameras has never been of class-leading quality, but the new CMOS sensor has brought Leica forward a lot." They have a bias for CMOS, I have a bias for CCD. Other than that, I saw it as a very favorable review.
algrove Posted May 30, 2015 Share #23 Posted May 30, 2015 Not too bad aarticle for a guy who is not an RF buff like us. I sure liked the lens they gave him to use.

jaapv Posted June 1, 2015 Share #26 Posted June 1, 2015 reviews a monochrome camera, puts "limited to monochrome" as a con geez And it is incorrect too. Just add a red, green and blue filter and a tripod, and voila - glorious colours :D

Paul20 Posted June 2, 2015 Share #29 Posted June 2, 2015 One of the cons listed against the new Monochrom camera is that it is "Limited to monochrome". That's like saying - I love my pet dog but it's not very good at being a cat.
Guest Posted June 9, 2015 Share #30 Posted June 9, 2015 Its years since I read a camera review in the AP . Their was usually a comment along the lines of " the camera produced a punchy set of prints" . It was a lot better when Victor Blackman wrote a column and tested cameras as part of his job with the Daily Express I think ? It was a long time ago.
