This little fella knocked itself out by flying into a window.

My wife picked it up and warmed it with her hands.

The hummer recovered and I saw it take off for the next tree.

I am sure it will be back for the sugar water in the feeder we set out.

K-H,

How marvellous that this beautiful little bird was ok. What a nice story and great images.

Being in a rural area, where there are large flocks of birds, this unfortunate thing occurs here routinely, parrots seem to be particularly at risk,

although I have had even Kookaburras fall prey to the illusion (I guess they see the reflection of the sky in the windows).

Over the years I have wracked my brains for a way to stop it, but without success. It is quite worrisome, occasionally the impact proves fatal

as they break their necks. The noise of the impact of a bird the size of a Kookaburra slamming into a window is extremely startling for anyone in

the house at the time, heart stopping in fact!

Great story and glad it is ok. Depending on the light the colors are incredible. We feed them at home and out at our lake place. They are fun to observe especially when they have a dispute over a feeder.
