John Z. Goriup Posted May 5, 2015 Share #1  Posted May 5, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) One of the reasons I recently upgraded from the M9 to the new ( 240 ) M-P is because the live view feature enables macro and telephoto photography, two areas of photography that interest me very much.  Still working on the telephoto portion, but I think I'm set for a while in the macro department. Picked up a M Macro Adapter today at the local Leica boutique, went out to the garden and shot the attached with the adapter, a 90mm f 2.8 Elmarit-M, on a tripod with cable release and EVF II.  Mind you, this is the first image of my first attempt with the new set-up……….pp in LR5.  Tomorrow, a day-long field trip up the coast to shoot some spring wildflowers and try some other focal length lenses on the adapter to gain experience with it.   JZG

John Z. Goriup Posted May 6, 2015 Author Share #6 Â Posted May 6, 2015 The above image was taken with the 90mm and the adapter, today's was taken with a 50mm Summilux, again at f8.0, and on a tripod with cable release. Â Steep learning curve, lots to think about, but the slow, introspective pace of choosing a subject, setting up the equipment, composing and metering and finally snapping the shutter really appeals to me. Â Thanks for looking, Â JZG

Iduna Posted May 6, 2015 Share #8 Â Posted May 6, 2015 John, Â these are 2 remarkable results, the DOF is amazing and you found a fine frame and focus for both subjects. I think this combination will provide you with many excellent pictures. You will enjoy the full potential.
John Z. Goriup Posted May 7, 2015 Author Share #9  Posted May 7, 2015 Iduna, thank you. I'm really glad to be able to shoot macro with the M-P because it's so very handy , tidy and "user friendly" - even though the EVF could most certainly be improved……….by a lot !!!  Reghards,  JZG
