Brent, I knew the coloured bar at the bottom of this shot would not work for some.....I did consider cropping, but in the end left it there because I thought it added a sort of mysterious abstraction to the image. I think the bar is important for the balance and the direction of the picture. If it is missing the black background will make the arrangement float. Thanks for offering this discussion... I can certainly see what Brent is getting at and he has a point... but, if I were doing this again I would still leave the bar in....I think it adds to the image in some way that I can't exactly describe.
