k-hawinkler Posted April 20, 2015 Author Share #4  Posted April 20, 2015 Nice serie. Can understand your fascination. The 8 -th picture made me laugh.  Thanks everybody.  Yup, that 8-th picture is pretty funny.  Seeing these birds soar is pretty amazing. Here is a shot taken by my daughter with E-M5 II + 42.5/1.2 Nocticron. Welcome, dear visitor! I am counting 31 birds in this image.  All of them roost in the same spot, mainly in one tree, and a couple of neighboring ones for the overflow crowd! Like any large group of folks that spend a great deal of time together there have to develop tensions. Mostly the vultures get along, but there is occasional competition for the best, i.e. the highest, spot in the tree. Also some birds don't seem to like each other and get into fights, even pursuing one another into a different tree before returning to their spot.
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! platypus Posted April 21, 2015 Share #5 Â Posted April 21, 2015 A great series and very educational. I wonder if these are the same birds as the vultures of India, they look to be. Obviously your daughter is following in your footsteps both with regard to photographic talent and interest in birdlife, that's so nice!
