Thanks Brent, the undersides of the leaves really are that strange bluey/purple shade, I had never noticed that fact prior to photographing them yesterday. But, at the same time, it is a reassuring feeling of connectedness I feel whenever I see your beautiful nature shots. This one is no exception. It pops with color burst. Andrew....I'm certain the Claret Ash is not a native of Australia as our native trees are not deciduous but, (having googled it) I am frustrated to find that I can't locate a country of origin for this tree....Ash trees as a species are native to Europe however!
