Louis Posted April 18, 2015 Share #2 Posted April 18, 2015 I think you are right! Are they French?... Not very discrete, but a nice catch!
platypus Posted April 18, 2015 Share #3 Posted April 18, 2015 A very sweet photo! I think it's because of pigeons that the old phrase "billing and coo-ing" came into being, though I'm sure that's fallen out of usage these days. Oh dear my age is showing. fotografr Posted April 19, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted April 19, 2015 Thanks Louis and Dee. Dee, "billing and coo-ing" aren't familiar to me. They must be terms from way before my time.
platypus Posted April 19, 2015 Share #5 Posted April 19, 2015 Thanks Louis and Dee. Dee, "billing and coo-ing" aren't familiar to me. They must be terms from way before my time. Oh dear...I'm not that ancient am I? Perhaps it's an old fashioned English (that is British) term, it means exactly what pigeons and doves do constantly; swipe their beaks together and go "coo coo coo"....the billing (beak swiping) part is similar I guess to kissing?! Sorry Dee. I'm just giving you a hard time. I'm actually quite old enough to be familiar with those terms. I even know what "spooning" means, which might tell you how old I am. Northwest Wanderer Posted April 19, 2015 Share #8 Posted April 19, 2015 Nice image. Dove images tend to look soft in the feathers. You managed retain the detail nicely.
pauledell Posted April 20, 2015 Share #9 Posted April 20, 2015 Quite romantic. You had great timing. Paul
