Looking, unsuccessfully, for a pod (bean bag) this afternoon, in central London, I found that both Park Cameras and Jessops now do Leica.  Perhaps they have been doing it for years and I just haven't noticed, but it seems to be a sign that their production must now be keeping up with demand.  A couple of years ago, no normal retailer would have stocked Leica because they would just have had lots of frustrated, disappointed potential customers.  Not sure what the story behind Robert White's decision not to stock Leica was, but I expect that sales requirements of £X, to be a distributor, but supply of £Y (< £X) could be part of the story.

Park was a M dealer at the original shop but dropped out in a reshuffle, and now back in favour. Robert White is a sad story, but essential sold his business due to ill health and although the name remains the new business is quite different. Robert would never have dropped Leica as that is where he started.

They are not sole importer for some of the brands you mention - Zeiss and B+W for example. Robert was sole owner. All the staff with experience of Leica (John, Stu et al) left. Flaghead were in business I think specialising in lighting. As they had no experience of Leica they may have lost the status at Leica's instigation, or may not have wanted to carry the stock levels required to be held by Premier (M and S) dealers. Perhaps one of our dealer members knows the full facts. They do support the Brands they stock well, and have recently hosted Zeiss and Lee events.
