They are so named since they are often found alongside roads, and usually fairly low. the first three are in Nicaragua. The fourth is a bit further south in Panama.

It reminds me of a red tail hawk I would see almost everyday driving home from work. It was perched on a street lamp post, the same one. The traffic was moving at the breakneck speed or 2 mph so it was always possible to spot and watch.
