Strap for M240

Recommended Posts

Your photo is showing the Mini QD Loop which OpTech came out with a few years ago for small cameras and binoculars. However, OpTech says they are rated (I assume the 1.5mm dia. loop version) for 44 pounds and looks as strong as Gordy straps' string, but I would test the Mini Loop for pull-out strength before using on an expensive camera.

Thank you for the great advice everyone. I opted for a new strap instead for now - it's comfy enough slung over my hooded parka but not sure how it will do during the hot summer months. Time will tell.

These are my favorite, although I wimp out and use plain black.;)

i prefer straps that use the tripod mount eg blackrapid rather than the standard leica branded strap - the lugs are very narrow to accommodate the thin wire eyelets on a leica strap

I have switched to BlackRapid, too. They are very reliable in their design and are extremely sturdy. I had previously used the Domke web straps on all my cameras for 12+ years. Never once had a strap failure or dropped camera with one of these.

I'm partial to the Leica strap for the following reasons:

1. It's lightweight and packs up well in a small case.

2. It's pretty plain looking and not flashy.

3. I've never had any issues with its slipping on my shoulder, which is where I wear it.

But I would love to hear other suggestions that meet that criteria!

Recently ordered a couple of Artisan Artist slider straps. I like the way how easy I can change the length of it.

I built my own version - using the stock strap connectors

I have a similar one on my X100 too

Love being able to easily adjust where the camera sits, higher so it doesnt hit stuff on my belt, and quickly extend to actually shoot with.
