vikasmg Posted February 21, 2015 Share #21 Posted February 21, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey all, so I know this might not be a completely suitable comparison to make, but I really have problems choosing between dl109 and vl 114. ... My wife has a V-Lux 114 and I have a D-Lux 109. The D-Lux has a larger sensor with slightly fewer pixels and I think on the whole gives better results. More importantly, it is smaller and so it's with me a lot more often. I don't use the long range telephoto range all that much but every now and then I find myself envying it and wishing for a longer zoom. I could just borrow my wife's camera of course but often she just isn't carrying it :-) - Vikas

leica dream Posted February 22, 2015 Share #23 Posted February 22, 2015 lct That is exactly why one should see the cameras in person. These are not the same capability cameras especially as the Fuji has a fixed 35 mm lens. Just looking at the measurements Fuji looks just marginally larger at 0.3 inches longer by 0.3 inches higher but 0.07 inches thinner, but all that makes it 1.2 ounces heavier which would be a decider for me. My choice is between my preferred D(109) and the C(112) which also shows excellent results on this forum so I shall consider that too. ellz90 Posted February 23, 2015 Author Share #24 Posted February 23, 2015 So thanks all for the reply! Just got back from the store and picked DL109 in the end :-) tried D109, V114 as well as X113 there and seriously, almost went for X113 in the end, haha. Now it's finally time to try it out @Richard, good luck with your choice, curious which one you will pick in the end

leica dream Posted February 27, 2015 Share #27 Posted February 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ellz90, have had a really difficult time to-day in the dealer. In addition to the D(109) and C(112) they had a Sony X100 M3. Bearing in mind I use by V-Lux for most images but just wanted something to carry around for more spontaneous shots, I quickly discounted the D on size grounds. Likewise, the Sony is an excellent camera with large sensor and fast lens, but again from sheer bulk and weight (10 ounces) it was certainly not "pocketable". I settled on a Leica C to keep beside me for quick use with my trusty V-Lux for more planned shots. The EVF is nowhere as good as the Sony, but sufficient for casual shooting.
