MEB Posted December 27, 2014 Share #6 Posted December 27, 2014 This is a very striking photo of an obviously beautiful woman. It appears to me that you are clipping in the magenta and purple colors. If you took this shot in DNG, I would suggest backing off the luminosity in those two channels. I think that would restore a bit of detail in her head covering. Thank you for sharing this picture. jedi996sps Posted December 27, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted December 27, 2014 Sharrok,Mumu,Louis,Antoine,Mark,Tim - Thank you all for taking the time to look and comment. Louis - they indeed do. I took another one with a blue scarf on, which i like too. Antoine - not yet. I am inclined to reshoot the image whilst the christmas decorations are still up, as i would like more detail in the eye brows. Mark - Thank you for the heads up on that. I will have a go at correcting before i print and frame them, as a birthday gift for her.
A miller Posted December 27, 2014 Share #9 Posted December 27, 2014 VERY nice, Ali. She has very seductive eyes and the colors are beautiful. I agree with Mark, though, and was going to make the same comment. I would suggest that you consider also playing around with different lower saturation levels. There are probably multiple renditions that one could spin on this. One of the benefits of your digital camera is that you can tweak things to emulate different film emulsions. This rendition might be close to a Fuji film (perhaps a Fuji chrome). You might also try to slight washed out supple version along the lines of a portra 160. Just throwing it out as not even two cents. In any case, I'm sure she will love it!
