Firefly Posted December 6, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted December 6, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone here tried using a Russian orion 15 28mm lens on a M8, or M8.2 for that matter? Bearing in mind its slow maximum aperture I was wondering if it's dof made up for any focusing issues and would it be advisable to use one of the cheapo 6-bit adapter rings available or can it be mounted and used with a normal adapter ring? many thanks Rob
Advertisement Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Hi Firefly, Take a look here orion 15 on M8?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pop Posted December 6, 2014 Share #2  Posted December 6, 2014 (edited) "Using" would be overstating it, but I do own one. Here's a test shot taken with an M (Typ 240) from a distance of about 1m, 1:6, manually focused on the "0" (using the RF, of course). I have taken three shots and re-focused each time. There's no marked difference between the shots, so I show just one. This is just the central part of the image at 100%. The adapter ring is uncoded; it's just a generic 28/90mm LTM to M adapter.  Welcome, dear visitor! Alberti Posted September 10, 2020 Share #3  Posted September 10, 2020 now you can code it as Summaron 28mm. Handles the small vignetting on my M240 and I can't say it improves the already absence of purple fringing
