pauledell Posted December 5, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 5, 2014 Ali, Clever and unusual with the colors, sharpness as well as a very uncomfortable nest for the chicken. Paul
jdlaing Posted December 5, 2014 Share #4 Posted December 5, 2014 I like this one. I'm from the days when I drove a few of those. The cut nails not the egg.

jedi996sps Posted December 5, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted December 5, 2014 Stuart, Paul,Hank, JD - thanks, i'm glad you like it. I replaced some of the original floor boards in one of the rooms in my house, which is actually 120 years old. It just did not feel right to throw the nails out, so i kept them. Northwest Wanderer Posted December 5, 2014 Share #8 Posted December 5, 2014 Very creative. I'd keep those nails. Something about materials from another time is always appealing.
jdlaing Posted December 5, 2014 Share #9 Posted December 5, 2014 Stuart, Paul,Hank, JD - thanks, i'm glad you like it. I replaced some of the original floor boards in one of the rooms in my house, which is actually 120 years old. It just did not feel right to throw the nails out, so i kept them. When I was a young apprentice Carpenter, in a land far far away a long time ago, I used these cut nails to install furring strips to a masonry wall for finishing with paneling or drywall. They were cheaper than newly invented masonry nails and held better. You can still get them today. The pullout strength is better than a round nail.
jedi996sps Posted December 5, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted December 5, 2014 Henry,Bill - Thank you for looking. I shall scratch my head some more and think of a way of keeping them and having them on display in and incorporated as part of the house again. JD - i have a retired builder friend who still swears by them too.

I love it. Wherever did you find those nails?

Louis Posted December 6, 2014 Share #15 Posted December 6, 2014 Ali, like Ece, I was sure you took this shot in a art gallery or museum! If not, you should, maybe, bring it to a gallery! I is a great idea, a beautiful composition and a superb shot!... A piece of art, my friend!
jedi996sps Posted December 6, 2014 Author Share #16 Posted December 6, 2014 Louis, many thanks for the kind words. In these cold grey days where it starts to get dark by 3pm, we need to get our creative fix somehow and work with what is available.....
