pauledell Posted December 3, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 3, 2014 Ece, What happened to sunny California? Actually, I'm glad for you with the drought that has persisted. Paul
Louis Posted December 3, 2014 Share #6 Posted December 3, 2014 Ece, we are having every day! ( Cogratulation for the new "baby". I hope you like it! A very clean shot with a great IQ; nicely composed! Is it in-camera BW, or converted to BW? I am still trying to understand some parts of the Menu that I can't even activate and remain in grey!... I love the camera, but not so the manual and the menu!

Hank Taylor Posted December 3, 2014 Share #8 Posted December 3, 2014 Such good detail and rendering in this picture of LA. A little rain adds that touch that was needed. Hank
stuny Posted December 3, 2014 Share #9 Posted December 3, 2014 Excellent. We experienced it Sunday, but left Monday, thereby missing Tuesday's harder rain.
allamande Posted December 4, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted December 4, 2014 Capt, James, George, Adam, Paul, Louis, Robert, Hank, Stuart, Thank you so much for looking in and for your comments. Your feedback (along with thumbs up) always much appreciated. I have to say, it will take a lifetime for me to get to the point when this will be overrated Paul, you know how much we need every drop so it is all very welcome. Robert, I am most impressed by that umbrella but I would need a new coat to go with it. Any suggestions? Louis, I converted this in Silver Efex II. I am enjoying my new toy while trying to decipher its menus. I think that the items that are grey in any given menu are those that are not available in the mode that your camera is in at that moment. I think I am in the same spot that you are in. I downloaded the manual and I am just using "search" to figure out particular functions. It'll take some time. But the good news is that the fundamentals (like aperture, speed, ISO, WB, exposure compensation) are very easily accessible. I love those dials that allow the user to change settings very fast. You will master all of it in no time and eventually will have to give me some lessons. Stuart, you got to see the prelude on Sunday. It was steady all day today and got stronger tonight. Freeways are a total mess. You got out of here just in time! Ece
k-hawinkler Posted December 4, 2014 Share #11 Posted December 4, 2014 Ece, Fitting image, capturing the cheerful mood or its opposite! Tonight a bit of your rain made it all the way to New Mexico. Of course, at higher elevations that means SNOW!
XVarior Posted December 6, 2014 Share #12 Posted December 6, 2014 When you hear or read LA you think Sun, seeing it like this is really amazing and almost unique. So glad you guys are having it finally, my brother was starting to worry about the trees who had started to die:-( Nice shot Ece.
allamande Posted December 6, 2014 Author Share #13 Posted December 6, 2014 K.-H., thank you, I think it is definitely on the sinister side a la Chandler, therefore the irony. Snow in NM? I envy you! It must be so beautiful, a dusting (or more?) over the Sangre de Cristos. I look forward to seeing your latest images. Rodrigue, thank you! It is definitely an anomaly these days to have a few drops. It is a parched landscape (minus the artificially watered lawns). Your brother lives in LA? When you visit, hope we can meet. Ece
