Advertisement Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Hi Dopaco, Take a look here How are you going to take your Leica D-lux 109?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted November 25, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 25, 2014 Curious case indeed. Cannot be used as an half case like the Panasonic?
simfan Posted November 26, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 26, 2014 Because the nice leather brown Leica case was not yet available (in my Leica shop), in the mean time ... 103665 Hama Fototas Canberra 90 black/red (like it is made for Leica!) - 19 EURO: https://be.hama.com/103665/hama-foto...-90-zwart-rood it fits perfectly ... but is quite tight, even a bit wider filter on the lens might make it even too tight ! Dopaco Posted November 28, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted November 28, 2014 D-lux109 .. Is it good to place hilt 18547? Where to buy, appears exhausted? .. It is best not to put anything? ....
dhsimmonds Posted November 28, 2014 Share #6 Posted November 28, 2014 You could always try the Panny bag, made for the camera. Welcome, dear visitor! TEBnewyork Posted November 28, 2014 Share #7 Posted November 28, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Panny case does not work on the Leica. The rounded edges on the Leica make it wider. Tried it.
WGio Posted December 6, 2014 Share #8 Posted December 6, 2014 GRIP + CAP The new cap is a joy to use! Its very good build quality (at my D-Lux5 I tried a "similar" cap from elsewhere, it was unusable, a bit to small in diameter). This cap is wonderful. Walter Welcome, dear visitor! brucek Posted December 6, 2014 Share #9 Posted December 6, 2014 Is that the Leica grip? If so, does it permit access to the battery / SD compartment without removal? I doubt it does, but thought I'd ask anyway...
farnz Posted December 7, 2014 Share #10 Posted December 7, 2014 The new cap is a joy to use! ... I completely agree. I used one on my DL5 and I couldn't be without one for my DL109. Just switch the camera on and start shooting with no fiddling about removing the lens cap and searching through pockets afterwards to find which one it's hiding in. Bliss. Pete. farnz Posted December 7, 2014 Share #12 Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) Looks good. Where can I buy it? From your Leica dealer, Erik, it's called the Automatic Cap as far as I recall. I don't doubt that there will be after-market ones available from Asia before long (if not already!). The DL109's automatic cap is attached with a bayonet fitting behind the outer lens ring so I don't know whether the LX100's automatic cap can be used with the DL109; I would assume so but it might save you a couple of bob to check first if you're thinking along those lines. Pete. Edit: I note on another thread here that someone confirms that the LX-100's automatic cap works with the DL109 (and, for those to whom it matters, the Panasonic tag can be placed below teh lens so it's not easily noticed:D). pilot-kurt Posted December 7, 2014 Share #13 Posted December 7, 2014 The new cap is a joy to use! I agree. It works great! I posted in another thread, but I'll mention it here--I got the Panasonic version (DMW-LFAC1) and saved $50. It's identical except for the label. It works perfectly on the Leica. I mounted it so the "Panasonic" label is on the bottom of the lens and will never be noticed. The only drawback to the Auto Lens Cap is that it does not work with normal size filters. I'm waiting for the ultra-thin Cokin PURE Harmonie UV filter to see if that works. Since there is no lens hood option, I feel some need to protect the lens. Fang Posted December 8, 2014 Share #15 Posted December 8, 2014 Now for the grip ? I don't like the Leica grip since it hinders the changing of the battery and SD card. Look at the grip on my DLux 5 - Richard Franiec Grip yesterday and the body of the Dlux5 and type 109 profile seems to be the same. Anyone knows whether it fits ? before I take it off my Dlux5 and fit it on the type 109. Thank you in advance.
lct Posted December 8, 2014 Share #16 Posted December 8, 2014 Seems like there are two Leica cases for the DL109. 18821: http://www.cliftoncameras.co.uk/uploads/products/LeicaDLuxProtecter.png 18822: http://www.cliftoncameras.co.uk/uploads/products/LeicaDLuxTwistCase.png

I emailed RIchard and he said that the grip for the older DLux will fit the Type 109 - you might want to confirm with Richard, but that email from Richard was from last week. Still no mention on his web site yet. Vic

Anyone knows whether it fits ? before I take it off my Dlux5 and fit it on the type 109. I removed the Franiec grip from my D-Lux 4 and found that it fits on the D-Lux Type 109. It may be a little too tall for the 109 as the height of the grip extends above what appears to be the assembly line for the top of the camera, and I don't know if that would cause any problems for service or not. I'm not sure I like it on the 109, but I'll give it a few days to see if it grows on me.
