New Lightroom 5.7 supports Voigtlander M lenses

The newly released update of Lightroon v5.7 adds support for the new Digilux typ 109 camera and also now has profiles for Voigtlander M lenses. I have briefly tried it with my Voiglander 15mm and while it corrects vignetting it does not completely eliminate colour shift at the edges. My lens is an old screw mount fitted with a codable M adapter. Possibly the newer M mounted lenses might give better results.

I've just given it a spin with some old shots from my M8 and the LTM version of the CV15 - first impression was it gives a boost to corner illumination that blows out highlights quite alarmingly, but the vignetting slider in the Profile tab seems to be able to recover the highlights quite nicely. So I think this could be a bit of a breakthrough for these lenses on digital M's, albeit with a learning curve, and you maybe need to go back to orignal import file without any prior working in LR, Cornerfix or Flat Field corrections to get the best out of the new profiles

 

Interesting comment from Head Bartender at RFF:

 

"In my discussions with Adobe, apparently the best technique is shooting the CV lenses with no bar coding or Leica lens corrections, and then using the Adobe corrections afterward."

 

So just maybe a better-than-average incremental upgrade to LR for M-users, all in all...

I presume the Adobe Camera Raw 8.7 update available this week has the same Voigtlander additions?

I downloaded it last night without looking forVoigtlander as I didn't know there might be there

Just tried it in ACR/PS CC2014 on some.ME / CV 21mm F4 DNG's and it works a treat.

Yes I noticed that the new profile gave best results when I switched off lens recognition (my Voigtlander 15mm is coded as a 21mm f3.4) otherwise vignetting is over corrected. Unfortunately the colour shift at the edges of the image is not completely eliminated when using a full frame camera, the M240 in my case. When I use the Voigt 15mm on my Ricoh GXR with M mount there are few problems due to the crop factor.
