I have noticed that I have reached my 40,000th post. I have certainly enjoyed this venture and I cherish all the friends I have met on the forum. I know that I don't post my work as much as I discuss the pictures that the rest of you do but that's the way I hope to encourage and enlighten the rest of you.

I have selected some old files taken in the 1970's with a Leica M4 with a 50mm Summicron. Whenever I look at these pictures, I smile at the magic of Christmas.

Oh come check out the decorations in the window. I wish I was back in my younger days.

The elderly lady seems to be thinking, "Oh for the days when I was young"

Hi Paul - So nice of you to share these wonderful images on this auspicious occasion. I especially love the first and third. I wish you would post more! Your unconditional "virtual" friendship has meant a lot to a lot of people. You are a source of support and encouragement, and we are all lucky to have you as a senior member of the community. I hope in your next 40,000 posts you will share more of your wonderful photos. Best, Adam

Dear Paul,

This is a very special milestone for the forum itself as your posts are here in support of all of us (literally); when I look at that number, I see it reflecting everyone's work..

Thank you and congratulations!!!

This set is a great reminder that behind those kind and generous comments is a seasoned photographer with a big heart.

Many happy returns!

Ece
