6-bit Coding of lenses in New York?

I use a Leica M-P (Type 240)

(Although the photo of the lens was taken on my iPhone 6!!!!:D)

What type of paint did you use to fill in the pits? I have the JinFinance flanges and used flat Testors paint. My flanges work perfectly on my M9 but not at all on the M240 -- glad it works for you.

Try flat black RustOleum.

Lawman, I used Revell enamel Matt White and Matt Black.

And yes, it's working perfectly on my M-P 240...

Did you use both black AND white paint, or just use black and assumed the plain metal would work ok? Maybe the coding sensor is more sensitive on the 240...and isn't reading the blanks as zero ? Can't really see why that might be the case, but it's maybe worth checking.

I decided right at the beginning that I would use both black AND white paint when coding... Otherwise why would Leica bother?

Looks neater too...:)

Livingston- yes I filled in both white and black pits. I have 35/2 type iv; 50 /2; and 90/2.8 tele Elmarit-m and all work with m9 and none with m240. I was an early adopter of flanges and my pits maybe a little smaller than yours- thanks for the report - Larry
