How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “c

I picked up my C a couple of years ago, and I pretty  much only use it for taking photos at concerts. I wanted something small, sort of "stealthy," with a good lens for low light, and a decent zoom. I've been considering upgrading to a D-Lux (probably a Typ 109) but after looking at some of these photos in this forum, maybe I'll continue using my C and also carry it out more when I head into the streets. 

Here's a photo from Jan 29 when Peter Murphy came to town.

Hmm, there used to be a rather derogatory name applied to a somewhat similar colour on Austin Allegros etc...   ;)

Lost the thread where someone posted a still life of recently purchased fresh vegetables, so as this was taken on a "C" and I don't have any fresh veg (need to go shopping) at present, this is my version.  Suppose it might be termed a "bean feast"!

Vacheron & Constantin caliber P453/30 … c. 1945/50. Base ebauche is Jaeger leCoutre caliber 449.  JLC supplied base movements to several high-end Swiss manufacturers including Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin and Audemars Piguet.

Leica C f4.5  ¼ sec ISO 400 …  6mm focal length (FF equiv 29mm) using close focus mode; camera set to 'fine jpeg '.  Camera supported on small copy stand inside  Lastolite Cubelite tent (next to window) … subject placed on 3" vertical tube to separate from background. Also used small gobos in tent to kill reflections. Have not adjusted this particular watch Pete as it's a bit too 'high end' … prefer to ask my watchmaker who will adjust FOC while I wait ( Mark Wiles, Antique & Modern, East Barnet London :) ) … and who will also advise if needs a service. It's a 70 years young watch … but similar quality to e.g. a Leica rangefinder camera.

What a super image - the little C's are so powerful particularly in the right hands.

I still use a wind up watch, just cannot be bothered with unreliable batteries. Mine has served me well for 67 years with care from my watchmakers. Mechanical watched have character - something which battery models don't have.

A small part of my Lilac bush.  A present from sadly departed friend 18+ years ago.

Weirdly, I can smell it! 😄  The brain is a wonderful organ.

While it's sad that your friend passed away all those years ago it's wonderful that the Lilac has brought his memory back to you and hopefully in a positive way where you can recall and chuckle about the good times you had together.

Thanks Pete.

She was a lovely lady.  She bought it for my wife.  It didn't do a lot over the first few years, but we had a chuckle about that as we found the hound kept "watering" it :)  Since his demise it has really shot up and now a good couple of fee taller than I.  Nice to be able to look out of the office window at this time of year to see all the blooms (then go and pull some rhubarb that lives next to it).

Glad you can smell it - with my hay fever I'm having difficulty :D
