Advertisement Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Hi Rolo, Take a look here Castel Meur. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
macrobernd Posted October 24, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 24, 2014 Gary, fine composition. You were lucky to get the house on a windy day without cars in front of the door. I have been there six weeks ago.
thompsonkirk Posted October 24, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 24, 2014 Dramatic shot. Yes, one could wait til there are no cars – or just wipe 'em out with Photoshop! Kirk
pauledell Posted October 24, 2014 Share #4 Posted October 24, 2014 Gary, A very dramatic shot with the contrast and rich tones. Great composition and sharpness. Paul
Rolo Posted October 24, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted October 24, 2014 Thanks for your kind comments. This is rare for me, but on reflection I prefer the colour version of this image. Same image. J_Thompson Posted October 25, 2014 Share #11 Posted October 25, 2014 Nice subtle lighting on the color version - not as dramatic as the B&W, but more interesting.
John Basso Posted October 26, 2014 Share #12 Posted October 26, 2014 I love this shot.Just wonderful .Both in B-W and colour gives them a dramatic impact. Greetings:John Basso.
A miller Posted October 26, 2014 Share #13 Posted October 26, 2014 I agree 100% on the color vs B&W on this one. The black burned edges on the sky were just too much for me. The color is lovely; a tad too cool (in terms of WB) for my taste but still lovely.
alun Posted October 29, 2014 Share #14 Posted October 29, 2014 I like the B&W -- although I think perhaps the very heavy vignetting on the sky in the B&W version perhaps overpowers the central image a little. The colour is more balanced -- attention rests where it should. But in the B&W version I find my eye drifting up to the darkest parts of the picture. A rebalanced B&W might work better...

Michael Geschlecht Posted November 6, 2014 Share #16 Posted November 6, 2014 Hello Gary, Nice photos. Generally I prefer color photos but here I find the B&W to appear to be more "real". I think the colors in the color version (Regardless of their accuracy) APPEAR to be more altered or interperted. Best Regards, Michael
Jan W. Tromp Posted November 7, 2014 Share #17 Posted November 7, 2014 This is a very funny (and good) photo of what seems to be Harry Potters holiday house in France.
