cobbu2 Posted September 30, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 30, 2014 Thanks, this is good to know; I have a small collection ranging from a I Standard to an M8, so I'm sure at some time or another I may require their services!

graphlex Posted November 24 Share #5 Posted November 24 Leica U.S. can be legalistic in applying this. My experience: July: Send lens to Leica U.S. for evaluation and repair. Credit card info required at that point. August: Leica U.S., having evaluated, sends lens to Wetzlar. October: I rejoin LSI. November: Invoice collected from credit card before repair work can proceed. No occasion for customer to request discount before they collect. Later in November: Work done, lens sent back to me, whereupon I request the 15% discount against $950 cost of repair. Leica refuses discount . i didn’t push it, but my impression is that Leica wants to know if you’re claiming the LSI 15% before they quote you a price. Hmm…
graphlex Posted December 4 Share #6 Posted December 4 In fairness I should add that the repair was so well done that the lens performs better than it did when new.
