Einst_Stein Posted September 29, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 29, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had the impression that all LX/DLux lenses were designed by Panasonic, but approvefd by Leica for the quality, while Leica X were designed by Leica. This should apply to any lens on the camera also has Lumix vetsion. It is similar to Sony-Nex lenses, If a Zeiss lens only available with Sony mount, it is designed by Sony, but if a lens also has any other mount, then it's by the real Zeiss. peterv Posted September 30, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 30, 2014 Panasonic's Matt Frazer gives a quite elaborate answer 3 minutes into this video:
Einst_Stein Posted September 30, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted September 30, 2014 Thanks for sharing this interview. As usual, the lens is designed by Panasonic "to meet Leica's standard". And, again, this lens is the "closest to Leica's lens standard we've ever built".
