FrozenInTime Posted September 22, 2014 Share #21 Â Posted September 22, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) E72 seems 99% likely, 1% 67mm. Â ? Â It looks only a little large then the M-bayonet and: so E60 at most.
Advertisement Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Hi FrozenInTime, Take a look here Why wasn't the new 28mm summilux announced at PK?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jennifer Posted September 22, 2014 Share #22 Â Posted September 22, 2014 My bet is that we won't see a 240-based MM as long as the M240 is in production. Â Thinking about it, sadly you might well be right. If so, that would likely put no new MM before 2016, so maybe Photokina '16?
mmradman Posted September 22, 2014 Share #23 Â Posted September 22, 2014 My bet is that we won't see a 240-based MM as long as the M240 is in production. Â One year from now - based on 3 year cycle?
Jennifer Posted September 22, 2014 Share #24 Â Posted September 22, 2014 One year from now - based on 3 year cycle? Â I can't see them bringing out a replacement for the M240 and an updated MM at the same time or even in quick succession. Indeed, I hope they don't as the resulting GAS will be acute and potentially extremely injurious to the cash flow.
luigi bertolotti Posted September 22, 2014 Share #25  Posted September 22, 2014 ? It looks only a little large then the M-bayonet and: so E60 at most.  ... or series type fitted by hood as in 21 & 24 (series VIII and VII respectively... but series VII looks someway too little for the 28, imho)
ho_co Posted September 22, 2014 Share #26 Â Posted September 22, 2014 Stefan Daniel explains why the 28 Summilux wasn't introduced at photokina at LuLa: Â Photokina - Day 4 Â Scroll down to the 2nd Leica interview, "Stefan Daniel of Leica Shares Several New Leica Products Continued...Part 2"
A miller Posted September 22, 2014 Author Share #27 Â Posted September 22, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks, Howard. Good man. Â For those who aren't able to view the video interview, Stefan squarely addresses my question in the context of what he refers to as a lesson learned. The lesson being that Leica should only announce those products that it is ready to ship and supply to customers. Stefan remarked that it was a mistake to have announced products in the past that were not yet ready to ship, and that, going forward, Leica will learn from this mistake. Â He said that the 28mm summilux is not yet ready to be produced in large quantities. Rather than raise people's expectations (and blood pressure), he has deferred the announcement of further details regarding the lens - presumably until it is ready to be supplied to retailers. Â All this makes sense except for the fact that they already have piqued our interest by launching the lens with the 100-year anniversary set. Â thanks, again, Howard. I never would have otherwise found this interview. Â Best, adam

Best, adam  By chance, last Friday I spoke to a man who ORDERED one of the 100 anniversary sets (pure chance, met him in a certain shop which facilitated such talks... ) : order accepted.. a "certain" deposit paid (no info about)... delivery "in wait of schedule".... Jay B Posted October 4, 2014 Share #31 Â Posted October 4, 2014 Actually, they are ok about it. The Leica store will be in Bellevue, a suburb of Seattle, so it is felt that both stores will do well.

Yes, it is going in Bellevue Square. Something for me to do other than the Apple store while my wife is at Nordstrom, otherwise I hate malls. Come to think of it, I hate shopping... semi-ambivalent Posted October 13, 2014 Share #36  Posted October 13, 2014 Oh, I forgot the smiley face s-a.  My experience of almost every mall I've been in has been dismal, but there's lots of malls. I also resent what they've done to the retail environment I grew up in. I stand corrected.  Thanks, s-a
Rick Posted October 14, 2014 Share #37 Â Posted October 14, 2014 Hey, I didn't say I liked malls either. I agree with you. I stay out of them as best I can. Bellevue Square is in a high end suburb of Seattle and is pretty nice if you like high end shopping. It seems like a good match for Leica with the type of economic-class that predominates this mall. That's all. Â Having said that, I like to look at Leica stuff and this is going to be a cool store in my area to look at all stuff Leica. For me, there are very few stores anymore that I have any interest in. I suspect this store is going to have an attitude and an ill-informed staff, but I'm going to enjoy it for the gear while this high end hobby lasts... and it will crap-out soon for reasons I very much understand.
