The warm colors make this scene most peaceful and desirable. As I recall the movie Mad Max, the landscape seemed rather bleak and colorless.

Thanks. I was there at dawn…later, in the heat of the day, colours of the desert change…

Beautiful! It was the Outback on our first visit to Oz that caused us to go see similar landscape in the US southwest.

Thanks for posting. Have you got more to show?

I watched Mad Max again the other day - still good 35 years later (from before Gibson really did go Mad). Raw Australian cinema at it's best.

Thanks. Yes, many more but this is the only other one taken with a Leica. For the record, these two outcrops form the 'Two Dogs' dreaming of local Aboriginal people.

Other pics taken with a Canon - shock, horror - are at https://www.flickr.com/photos/28761609@N07/

Mark -

To see Mel in pre Mad Mel in a perfect film, watch Gallipoli again.

Fantastic movie but it's soooooo depressing

I saw him as Biff in Death of a Salesman at the Seymour Centre is Sydney in 1983 - fabulous performance.

Shame he went Mad/Bad whatever...

I'm Jewish so he's really in my bad books.

Oh, but then I'd automatically be in his bad books too
