So what do you guys that actually have put it to good use think about the lens? Please feel free to share images. I would love to see them.

I have a similar setup and added the 135 Apo a few months ago. Beautiful lens. Do not want to miss it and use it with the EVF. (The file is cropped by about 3x and the jpg has reduced quality due to upload limits, hopefully still useful.)

Full frame, wide open, with EVF2. As the above poster said, EVF2 is very helpful with this lens.

I think you're right, it is a very enjoyable lens to use and is capable of astonishing results that, without making any assumptions about you personally, may well challenge your abilities to the full!

Have fun.

Im sure of it. I find longer lenses very challenging simply because I rarely use them. I'm sure I will miss a lot of opportunities, not even seeing them there, until I learn to see like that. Sounds like fun though. Never stop learning.

I have both the 75 Summilux and Summicron. The Summilux is my favourite but just can't come at selling the Summicron.

Well, I imagine both are quite useful in very different ways at very different times.

That is great for so much cropping! M9 or M240? How far from the water?

Very natural colors! That is fairly thin DOF. Ahh the longer focal lengths. Especially with the M240 high ISO performance, f/3.4 should be excellent. Seems like an MM/135 APO combo is pretty sweet also.

It is from an M240. I enclose the unedited file so you can estimate how far from the water.

An illustration of the ease of use of the 135mm APO and to show how it can perform with the M240 & EVF. Taken hand-held from mid-way back in the stalls, ISO 1250, f3.5, 1/125sec - a mightily cropped shot of the staging of 'Relative Values' in London.

I had a chance when the Leica rep showed me the new item.

A twist proved the head did not screw off, complained, & returned it to display. My 4.0 or 2.8 135 go on a viso or Nikon and make wonderful digital photos.

My advice is if you desire 3.5 or 4.0, buy the APO. If not, another 135 will serve you well.

With the cash saved, a 28 2.8 ASPH is a gem. Nicest 28 mm I ever used.

That is a really nice shot. I am impressed that you handheld that. Well done! Can't wait to get mine.

I am not sure I understand. The head did not screw off? What do you mean?

Its "head" cannot be used with a Visoflex contrary to Elmar 135/4, Tele-Elmar 135/4 and Elmarit 135/2.8 (pic).
